Jiwon Kwon is a vibrant and passionate violinist and educator who began her musical journey at the age of six. Over the years, her dedication and talent have earned her numerous accolades, including first prizes at the Ye-eum Competition, KCO Competition, and Neo Musica Competition. She has also appeared as a soloist at the Young Artist Concert in both 2016 and 2017.

Jiwon entered Sungshin Women’s University at the top of her class, studying under Professor Ho-young Pi. In 2018, she broadened her musical horizons as an exchange student at the Umberto Giordano Conservatorio in Italy, touring with the Umberto Giordano Orchestra. She further refined her artistry through a masterclass with Oleksandr Semchuk and gained extensive orchestral experience performing with the German Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra, as well as guest appearances with the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the Mahlerian Orchestra in Korea.

Alongside her performance career, Jiwon has a strong interest in psychology and education. She became a certified music psychologist in 2020 and was recognised as a culture and arts education teacher in 2021, bringing a holistic and student-centred approach to her teaching. Since graduating, she has been an active performer with her ensemble at Rayul Art Hall and continues to perform as a member of the Artel Philharmonic, appearing in leading venues such as Lotte Concert Hall and the Korea National Theatre.

As an educator, Jiwon’s students regularly stand out in local competitions and concerts, reflecting her nuanced understanding of each student’s temperament and learning style. She teaches with a thoughtful, structured, and caring approach, guiding students through a carefully planned curriculum while nurturing a lifelong love of music.

In addition to her teaching and performance, Jiwon also provides administrative support at BHBSM and serves as our Piano Accompaniment Coordinator. She helps with scheduling, communication with parents, and day-to-day organisational tasks, and is responsible for coordinating accompanists for student exams, recitals, and competitions—ensuring that every performance is well prepared and professionally supported.
