Individual Lessons
Students who give at least 24 hours’ notice of an planned absence are entitled to a catch-up lesson (maximum of two per school term).
Catch-up lessons can be arranged at a time that works for both the teacher and the student (and/or their parent or caregiver) within the same term .
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the lesson will be forfeited and no catch-up or credit will be offered.
If a teacher is unavailable, the School will provide a relief teacher wherever possible. If this is not possible, a catch-up lesson will be arranged. The School will always try to give as much notice as we can.
Group Classes
Catch-up lessons are not provided when a student misses a group class.
If a student is unable to attend, please let the School as soon as possible.
If a group lesson is cancelled due to teacher unavailability, the School will arrange a catch-up class. This will usually take place in the first week of the term break at the regular lesson time.
Absences and Catch-Ups
Planned absences must be emailed to: absence@bhbsmusic.co.nz.
Catch-up lessons are provided as lesson credits. These expire at the end of the same term and which cannot be carried forward or applied to future invoices.
Catch-ups must be arranged within the same term, either alongside regular lessons or if needed, by the end of the first week of the school holidays.
The School will make every effort to ensure catch-up lessons are scheduled promptly once issued.
Cancelled or unattended catch-up lessons are forfeited, and no further credits will be given.
Withdrawing from Lessons
To discontinue lessons, students (or their parent/caregiver) must provide at least two weeks’ written notice to school admin (email: admin@bhbsmusic.co.nz)
Any lessons remaining after the end date stated in the notice will be considered forfeit. At the discretion of School Management, these may be credited to the student’s account.
