Tracy Ma

Tracy's musical journey began at the age of eleven when she embarked on the path of clarinet mastery under the guidance of Professor Tao Chunxiao, Chairman of the China Clarinet Association and a distinguished professor at the China Central Conservatory of Music. She later earned her Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at University of Auckland, where she studied with Dr. Marie Ross and Jonathan Cohen.

Recipient of the Ken Wilson Prize Clarinet Scholarship in 2018 and 2019 from the University of Auckland, Tracy has consistently demonstrated her exceptional talent and dedication. In 2011, Tracy made the move to New Zealand and has since become an integral part of the country's musical landscape. She has lent her clarinet skills to numerous orchestras across New Zealand, showcasing her versatility and musical prowess.

In addition to her performance career, Tracy has been a clarinet tutor at ACG Parnell College and long Bay College, where her students have achieved outstanding results in musical grade exams. Since the summer of 2022, Tracy has been a proud member of the Blockhouse Bay School of Music, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share the joy of clarinet through engaging and enjoyable lessons with new students. Tracy's commitment to musical education and performance reflects her passion for nurturing the next generation of musicians and creating a vibrant musical community.
